Two things in particular make this book stand out over a lot of Christian fiction I ve read recently 1 Since both the main characters have already given their lives to Christ before the story begins, there isn t all that pre conversion angsty ness that is present in so many other books in this genre.2 Something other than the problem of evil is the spiritual problem the characters have to deal with I don t mean to be dismissive of either a person coming to Christ or of understanding or trying to understand why evil is in the world, but there are so many other issues a person can face that can also make for telling a good story, but that are often neglected in this genre I ll leave you to preferably read the book or if you must know beforehand read some of the other reviews to find out what exactly the characters have to overcome in this book.A couple other pluses Though Levi and Eden are attracted to each other physically pretty much from the beginning, they also get to know each other s minds through writing long letters to each other It was also cute how they hand delivered them, since they lived so close to each other That Levi told Eden and later her father himself about his past, and that it was not the climax of the story.I ll definitely be trying some of Mrs Witemeyer s other books in the future.

One of my favorites by Karen Witemeyer and a great one to re read Levi is in my top 5 fictional heroes I m crushing on He totally carries the story for me, there are so many layers to him even though he appears simple Eden is delightful and we have a love for books and flower pressing in common Their blossoming friendship is lovely and the special moments they share are so romantic

Karen Witemeyer has done it again Not since Julie Lessman have I given the first three books by an author five stars in succession To Win Her Heart has definitely earned my accolades.I could go on for a complete review on the characters alone They are crafted and honed until they stand from the page in full three dimension Levi is not only an exceptional hero, but he stands as one of the most touching characters I have ever read He is strapping in his masculinity, but his hearts is what moved me.But what I loved the most is the uniqueness of the plot Instead of sticking with the basic romance formula, the author mixed it up and in fact the ending was a complete surprise for me I wasn t sure how tension would be maintained, oh but believe me, it was The ending was a bittersweet conclusion and having seen the characters grow through the story, I nearly cried In a good way. From beginning to end I was completely enthralled with the story, I wish I could go on for another 200 words, this book deserves it It s a complex plot that goes beyond mere heart pounding romance and layers characters that move the heart, emotions that tug at heartstrings and a faith that inspires. This review is my honest opinion Thanks to the publishers through CFBA for my copy to review.

Wow I loved this novel I love, love, love any sort of book where the hero or heroine is hindered with some sort of physical issue See Silent Revenge Levi s speech impediment really tugged on my heartstrings I enjoyed both him and Eden, separately and together At times I felt Eden was slightly clich , but she s human, after all I loved the suspense, too I thought we were nearing the end of the story around the 65% mark, but it just kept going And I m glad it did This is a quick and easy read Perfect for the beach I only had two qualms with this story 1 The character of Chloe felt unnatural and forced I felt like she was thrown in there for the heck of having another conversion She wasn t as gritty as she maybe should have been and everything happened too easily when it came to her story lines.2 Some of the syntax was too heavy Long, complicated words were thrown in here and there and they caught me off guard While I was able to swallow them, they just didn t fit and disconnected me from the story for a bit because I was too busy trying to figure out what a certain word meant.

Levi killed a man He spent two years in prison and wants nothing than to begin a new life. The opportunity comes in the post of blacksmith for the small town of Spencer. And in Eden, the small town librarian, aka Miss Spencer.Who can t bear violence Even against cockroaches. But she collects flowers and reads to children and writes to Levi about his favorite author, Jules Verne. He can t help himself, really From falling in love.If only he could find the words to explain his past Through a crippling lisp that renders even her name impossible.Wonderful Karen Whitemeyer s books get better and better Levi s constant struggle for words to avoid the sound s and his greater struggle with his past and society s barriers make him a compelling character To Win Her Heart is quite often quite impossible to put down.

This was a well written historical Christian romance novel Like all of Karen Witemeyer s books that I have read so far, this one had great characters and both protagonists learned important things during their relationship I really enjoyed this book, which is now on my favorites list, and I m glad I was encouraged to read this by a fellow Goodreads group member.
