A highlander in wolf s clothingYou mix a Highlander Historical with Paranormal and you have mixed two of my favourite sub genres in romance I love this combination A man in a kilt is hot, add that he growls, is possessive and super protective, well that is VERY appealing I really enjoyed this tale and thought the narration was done extremely well, especially his Scottish accent.Another winner with the Audible Romance Package.

I feel proper Scottish after reading this So much so, I ve spent the day bursting into spontaneous and terrible renditions of Donald where s yer trow sers But please don t let that put you off. This is historical story and paranormal too, two things I normally avoid, but I love Selena Kitt s smutty stories so I was fairly confident that even if I wasn t into ye olde historical romance or the transforming into wolves thing, the smut would make up for it I really wasn t expecting to love the history and paranormal elements as much as I did I was completely immersed in the whole world inside this story, I absolutely loved it This is the story of a spirited girl Sibyl who is promised to a vile, controlling brute by her nasty old stepfather She quickly decides she can t marry him and tries to run away, aided by a huge, ripped and gawjus man out in the thick of the forest Well actually, turns out he s half man, half wolf a wulver Raife is the leader of his wolf pack and so can t tie himself to just anyone And her deserted fiance the nasty vile brute is still looking for his missing bride and he s a sworn enemy of the wulvers.I loved everything about this the chemistry between Sibyl and Raife sizzled it s a real slow burn with a scorching payoff The whole world of wulvers living in a secret lair hewn from the centre of a mountain in Scotland, all wearing kilts and speaking Gallic was really well developed, a whole community of fascinating characters I was totally immersed in The plot had lots going on to keep me interested all the way through, it was a bit like reading a fairy tale albeit a decidedly grown up fairy tale This is a complete story, no cliffhanger but there will be in the series I really recommend this if you re looking for a love story you can completely engross yourself in I received a copy from the author in return for my honest review

Heat Level 2.5 out of 4 flamesOverall 4.5 out of 5 starsReviewed by Naughty Book Snitch MindySee Mindy s Blog Review Here Another home run for Selena Kitt When I heard there is a bonus epilogue and a preview to the sequel, I had to buy it Although I did receive an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review, I read the one I bought from and it was totally worth it I m not going to regurgitate the synopsis for you so I ll just get right to it I loved it I think Selena Kitt farts good stories in her sleep Seriously Does she even have to try I ll admit that I haven t read her entire backlog yet, but I m slowly working my way through it What I have read is amazing and this one ranks right at the top However this is VERY different than the other things I ve read from her so far By different, I mean this is an historical, Scottish highlander, paranormal, shifter romance and not the typical delicious naughty stuff that I m used to from her Don t worry my horny little readers there are still fantastically delicious sex scenes in this one too Just not as many I think what I loved most about it, is that Kitt stayed true to the time and puts some of the ugly facts about that time period in her story and it was a good fucking story The character and world building are stellar and I never once got confused as to what or who I was reading about Sibyl and Raife are magical together Their love and romance was a steady and slow build and when they finally sealed the deal, they didn t come up for air for 3 days Raife is very protective of Sibyl but she is the kind of girl who can take care of herself Of course every girl needs a hottie alpha wolf keeping an eye on things I also loved all the side characters Laina, Darrow, Kirstin, Donal Alistair this is all I have to say We are what we are That s what Raife said and it was true They simply were Animals were animals, humans were humans and wulvers were wulvers They were all God s creatures Overall, I loved it This is a good start to a series and I can t wait to read the next one I received a copy of this book via the author in exchange for an honest review.Click below for Naughty Book Snitch reviews

3 Meh StarsI ignored the overall reviews Usually I don t, but a few of my favorite reviewers gave Highland Wolf Pact a decent review so I decided to give it a go.Oh, so embarrassing, but I did search for erotica books on and this series popped up This is NOT an erotica book It s a NA with a one or two steamy scenes, but it s a long book and a lot of descriptive writing happens before you even get to steamy stuff I was really disappointed in that On that note, I liked the idea of a PNR book mixed with historical fiction The premise of the book had promise but the execution was lacking. The book was too slow and dragged too much to get to the good bits I found myself skimming the overly descriptive parts just to get to the action I also didn t care for the wolf English politics and oh goodness there were pages and pages of that I just didn t care I think I went wrong with this book by looking for smut and I got something else I think this book would have been better in audio and if I wasn t in the mood for smut.I just don t think this series will be for me.

Solid writing, good 3D characters The worldbuilding was a little thin I like my historicals to feel well, historical , but there are good bones to this universe that will probably get me to return for book two So why only 3 stars view spoiler A weak ending with unmotivated male pouting hide spoiler

3.5 4 starsThis was a pretty good story Raife and Sibyl were both characters that I liked and wanted to get together I loved the fact that the story combines wolf shifters with with historic Scotland the very early 1500s Sibyl is an English noblewoman but wishes she wasn t She was born the only child to her titled father so he raised her boyishly, learning hunting, fishing, riding not side saddle and other skills like that Unfortunately, Sibyl s father died and her uncle married her mother, becoming her step father He sold her off to a Scottish Lord for a bride and expects Sibyl to behave like a proper Englishwomansomething she hasn t been all her life and hates being.Raife is a wolf shifter and the leader of his clan pack They re born shifters that change from human to wolves They ve known much hardship and have retreated deep into the mountains to keep themselves safe from the humans They have a pact with the King from 20 years ago that should be keeping them safe but their neighboring Lord isn t keeping his end of the pact and has begun to hunt his people.Sibyl is sent to the castle of her betrothed and doesn t like him at all He s a slime and it s clear, although he tries to hide his nature behind a mask Sibyl has no interest in being his wife and think she d be better off on her own When she s forced to accompany him on a hunt one which she s not allowed to actually participate in she takes a small satchel with some provisions in it, hoping she can steal away Things get a bit convoluted when she finds that he is even worse than she thought, having captured a female wolf shifter that s pregnant and intending to kill her Sibyl ends up freeing the shifter and is hoping to escape herself but gets caught up by Raife He ends up pretty much just taking her with him but she s ok with it as long as she is able to escape the men pursuing her She sees some weird things during the escape but thinks she must have been hallucinating them due to stress although she soon finds out they were no hallucinations.Sibyl wakes up to find herself in a room that is also a cave She soon realizes that the shifters live in caves in the mountains so this is quite normal for them She first thinks to escape, especially when not everyone is as pleased for her to be there as some Raife offers her sanctuary promising none will hurt her while there and to escort her wherever she d like to go if she does leave Sibyl thinks she might know of a place she can stay and plans to leave soon but a medical emergency comes up and Sibyl is able to help as it s something the shifters don t usually have to deal with Raife tries to convince Sibyl to stay and she realizes that she likes it there and likes Raife so she agrees She s actually there for a while before things escalate between her and Raife but they do finally come together Of course, just when they do, drama has to go down to mess things up I actually wondered why Sibyl took the actions she did because to be honest they were rather TSTL and she was a smart heroine for most of the story so she should have known better Her actions inflame the conflict some but things do get resolved well and the story ends with Raife and Sibyl starting their HEA together. This was a pretty enjoyable story I liked both Raife and Sibyl and was happy to see them get together and work past the issues around them This was mostly a romance but there is a bit of action in it that keeps things interesting The story wasn t perfect but there weren t any issues that were too major and I really just loved the Scottish shifter crossover I d recommend this story D
